If you follow me on twitter, you likely saw that the Mesnick clan took a little “adventure” on Saturday & Sunday.
Jason and I planned a fun “Staycation” with the kiddos, simply to get away and just have a good time! I highly recommend this to everyone! After the chaos of hosting Thanksgiving, it was really nice to be away from the cleaning, laundry, and chores and enjoy some quality time with the family without a worry in the world!
Here’s a quick peek at our adventure.
We stayed at the Westin Bellevue, which is a GORGEOUS hotel located in the middle of downtown Bellevue, surrounded by shopping and restaurants!
A few moments after checking in, a fun little surprise arrived at our door…FRESH baked cookies & milk for Ty, and a bottle of vino for the grown-ups. It’s the small details like this that really get me hooked on a hotel!
After we got settled in, we took the kids over to Lucky Strike for some videos games, which of course, Ty loved! I beat him in 1 game of air hockey…he got me back and beat me two more times to follow. He scored 500 tickets on Deal or No Deal, which of course, took him about 30 minutes to decide how to spend his winnings…kids!
After Lucky Strike, we were able to catch the Snowflake Lane parade, which takes place EVERY SINGLE NIGHT for the month of December in Bellevue! The parade includes drummers, snowy characters, lights and music!
From there, we grabbed some take-out at a nearby restaurants, and decided to do what we NEVER do at home….eat dinner in bed and watch a movie!
Ty was adamant that we watch Turbo, which ended up being a really cute movie…and who doesn’t love hearing Ryan Reynolds voice over and over again.
The next morning, after some snuggles and breakfast in bed, we hit up the hotel pool for some swimming. Riley was a little indifferent about the water, but Jason and Ty couldn’t get enough!
From there, we paid a visit to the mall across the street and finished up some last minute holiday shopping! A stop at Lululemon was a must on my list!
That concluded our adventure. It was packed with fun…but relaxing fun! We weren’t on a strict timeline, and had no set plans, so we were really able to just enjoy every moment as it came!
If this is something that you might like to do with your own family, select Starwood hotels actually have a great holiday package going on! Our holiday stay included a $100 gift card to the adjacent shopping center and free parking! More details here.
