A Helpful Pregnancy Tool

There are so many unknowns when you first become pregnant and most of these “unknowns” are things that you can’t control:

  • How much weight will I gain?
  • Will my face break out?
  • Will I get heartburn?
  • Will my belly button turn from an innie to an outie?

The list goes on and on…and I’m trying to stay somewhat PC here when referring to all of those pregnancy “changes” ;)

Though you can’t control any of the above, you can control your actions that directly affect the health of your babe-to-be!

Some of you may have seen a few tweets I’ve sent out about a new app I’ve been introduced to, babyQ.  I WISH I would have discovered this at the beginning of my pregnancy, so I want to be sure all of you know about it too!

I’m not one of those people who feels comfortable calling my doctor at every questionable moment and I also feel that the internet, though VERY helpful, can be extremely overwhelming when you need a pregnancy question answered.  That’s where the babyQ app has become my new right-hand man!

In short, you take a quick, 24-question survey based on your daily habits (food, exercise, lifestyle, stress, etc).  Based on your answers, babyQ will generate a “pregnancy score” for you on a scale of 1 to 100.  The most beneficial part to all of this is that babyQ will then send you tips on how to increase your pregnancy score!  All of this is geared towards living a healthier life for both you and your baby!

I’ve been using this app for about 2 weeks now, and I’ve learned so much!

  • Did you know, in week 32 & 33, brain growth is most rapid. Your baby needs choline to aid the expansion of brain cells which you can find in eggs and cauliflower.

This is a simple fact that I can immediately put in to action towards baby Mesnick’s health!

  • For mommies-to-be who are observing Lent, babyQ put together this helpful info graphic on choosing the
    healthiest fish to eat: http://bit.ly/VLxd3i

Bottom line, there is a LOT of information out there regarding pregnancy and infant health.  You’re being bombarded with all of this information from doctors, the internet, and even perfect strangers…BUT, I’ve found the babyQ app to be the most beneficial, easiest to use, and most informative because it tailors all of that information to my needs and my lifestyle!

I truly urge all of you cute little preggo friends to give it a try.  I know I’ve benefitted from it greatly!
